The Starwire standard.
A source for the story. Context for the reader. Accountability from the desk.
Reporting you can trace
We require evidence for factual assertions and clear attribution for statements. Repeated coverage does not automatically provide independent confirmation. Search snippets and headlines are starting points for research.
What we know, and what we don’t
Allegations, statements and established facts must remain distinct. Sensitive coverage requires human editorial review. We do not invent quotations, dates or personal details to fill a story.
Pictures with provenance
Images require a reviewed source, licence and attribution. Archive photography must not imply that it depicts a current event. When an appropriate approved image is unavailable, we use a typography cover.
AI assists. Editors are accountable.
Automation can help discover coverage, organize research and prepare drafts. It does not replace evidence review or editorial responsibility. Our initial publication workflow requires manual approval.
